Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, who tied the knot in June 2006, are reported to have separated. The pair share two daughters Sunday, now 17, and Faith, now 14.
Sources close to the family say Kidman’s sister Antonia has been a pillar of support, with the entire Kidman family rallying around the actress. One insider noted that Kidman “didn’t want this” and had been fighting to save the marriage.
Earlier reports from TMZ claimed that the couple have lived apart “since the beginning of summer.” The outlet stated that Kidman has custody of the children and is “holding the family together through this difficult time” while Urban is living in a separate property in Nashville.
Kidman and Urban were together for nearly two decades. In a 2019 People interview, Kidman recounted how, on her 38th birthday in June 2005, Urban showed up at her door in the early morning with gardenias a moment she now views as pivotal: “That is when I went, ‘This is the man I hope I get to marry.’” The following year they were married. Their daughters, Sunday and Faith, were born in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
Up until June 2025, the two appeared to be in a loving place. On their wedding anniversary that year, Kidman posted a heartfelt tribute to Urban on Instagram. She has often spoken publicly about her deep love for him, said in 2024 how grateful she is for having him “my love, my deep, deep love” as a constant to return to amid the demands of her career. And Urban, in a 2020 interview on the Armchair Expert podcast, described her as “the one” he had long searched for someone who changed his life in fundamental ways.
As of now, neither Kidman nor Urban has made any public statement about the reported separation.
