Thornton reflected on the couple’s past relationship in a new interview
Billy Bob Thornton is talking about an infamous pop culture moment from his former relationship with Angelina Jolie.
The 70-year-old actor, who has been busy promoting the second season of his show Landman, recently spoke with Rolling Stone about the time he and his ex-wife gifted each other vials of their blood.
“We each had a little locket, literally with a drop of blood in them. That’s a romantic little idea, and that’s all that was. But by the time it’s over, we’re vampires. We live in a dungeon, we drink each other’s blood, and this kind of stuff,” Billy told the outlet.
Angelina and the Bad Santa star were together for a few years in the early 2000s, marrying in 2000 and then divorcing in 2003.
The actor speaks fondly of her and their relationship.
“And of course, Angelina and I had a great time together. That was one of the greatest times of my life,” he shared. “She and I are still very, very close friends. And that was the one that ended up being a really civilized breakup. We simply split up because our lifestyles were so different.”
