What is Blue Origin?
Blue Origin flights are space tourism, aiming to give more people the opportunity to travel high above the Earth’s surface.

The beginning of the journey and the emergence of theories!
Blue Origin achieved a historic milestone with its all-female crewed spaceflight on Monday, April 14, 2025. and as with most high-profile events these days, the internet was quick to flood the scene with conspiracy theories.
The NS-31 mission launched from Blue Origin’s First Launch Site, about 30 miles north of Van Horn, Texas, at 2:30 p.m. GMT (8:30 a.m. local time). Among those on board were pop singer Katy Perry, former NASA rocket scientist Ayesha Boe, film producer Kerianne Flynn, activist Amanda Nguyen, Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, and CBS Mornings co-anchor Gayle King.

Did Katy Perry’s Hair Give Away the Blue Origin Hoax?
Ever since Katy Perry and Gayle King took their 11-minute journey to the edge of space, the internet has been awash with wild theories. According to the internet’s resident conspiracy theorists, the all-female crew’s journey on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket was an elaborate hoax. Now, social media users have delved into another bizarre detail as “proof” that the crew didn’t really go to space. On X, formerly known as Twitter, commenters claimed that Katy Perry’s hair didn’t float as it should if she were in zero gravity.
In particular, conspiracy theorists have been drawn to the fact that NASA astronaut Suni Williams‘ hair was held up at odd angles during her time on the International Space Station (ISS). One skeptical commenter complained, “The real astronaut rescued by SpaceX had her hair all up. This is so fake.”

On X, one commenter wrote: “Watch their hair. Then look at Sumi’s [sic] while in space. This is all fake.”
Another confused social media user added: “I have long hair… And when I’m underwater my hair just flows and sways and goes with the emotions in the water… You see none of that in these fake space photos.”
While one commenter complained: “Why Katy Perry and the other females not tie their hair before leaving? Why it seems like a fake stunt to me?”
Of course, this ignores the obvious explanation that Katy Perry and the other members of the crew had their hair styled on the ground before leaving.
Suni Williams, on the other hand, was on the ISS for months without access to a shower so it’s unsurprising that her hair looked different to that of a celebrity.
Truth behind ‘fake hand’ spotted on Blue Origin space flight
This wasn’t the only detail in the Blue Origin mission that online commentators had trouble understanding. the online sceptics think they have spotted a conclusive piece of evidence which shows the entire mission was a hoax.
Eagle-eyed social media users have spotted what appears to be a fake hand onboard the New Shepard capsule which transported the all-female crew.A strange video showing Gayle King’s hand disappearing once again sparked rumors that the mission was CGI.

Perry’s space trip ends with a kiss
Amid the sceptics, on her return to Earth, Perry kissed the floor and appeared to be very grateful for the experience, which saw her sing Louis Armstrong’s ‘What A Wonderful World’ up in space.
“I feel super connected to love, so connected to love,” she said.
