New TV shows to watch this week

Welcome to Women’s World Today, your regular guide to what’s worth watching on television.

Every week, we highlight a selection of shows that deserve your attention. From cable favorites to the latest streaming releases, and even hidden gems that may have slipped under the radar, the aim is to offer something for every kind of viewer.

Whether you enjoy drama, comedy, or something completely different, this is your space to discover what’s worth your screen time.

Dutton Ranch

The piece is discussing “Dutton Ranch,” a new series in the expanding Taylor Sheridan TV universe that spun out of Yellowstone. It positions the show as a spiritual successor to the original series, following the success of related prequels like 1883 and 1923.

The story picks up after the events of Yellowstone. Beth Dutton kills her brother Jamie after learning he was involved in John Dutton’s death, while Rip helps cover it up. The Yellowstone ranch is ultimately handed over to the Broken Rock Tribe, and Beth, Rip, and their adopted son Carter are shown starting a supposedly peaceful life on a new ranch in Montana.

That peace doesn’t last. In Dutton Ranch, a fire destroys their home and forces them to start over again—this time in Texas, where they buy a ranch in Rio Paloma. They’re hoping for a fresh start, but quickly run into trouble with a powerful local ranching family, the Jacksons, led by matriarch Beulah and her volatile son Rob-Will. Their influence and shady actions spark ongoing conflict and a murder cover-up that drives much of the tension.

The series also introduces allies like a local veterinarian, Everett McKinney, and spends more time on character development—especially Carter, now a teenager navigating adolescence and his future.

Tonally, the recap emphasizes that Dutton Ranch feels slower and more character-focused than Yellowstone. Beth, in particular, is portrayed as noticeably calmer and more subdued than in the original series, which some see as a loss of the sharp, chaotic edge that defined her character.

How to watch: New episodes of Dutton Ranch air Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network and stream on Paramount+.

The Other Bennet Sister

The Other Bennet Sister is a spin-off inspired by Pride and Prejudice, focusing on Mary Bennet, the often-overlooked middle sister in the Bennet family.

Mary struggles at home with a controlling mother who is focused on marrying her daughters well, while Mary—awkward, bookish, and overlooked—doesn’t fit in. Things change when she moves to London to work as a tutor, where she begins to discover independence and confidence.

In the city, she forms new relationships, including a complicated romantic triangle, while encountering familiar characters from the original story in small roles. The series follows her growth into someone who starts defining happiness on her own terms, rather than through marriage expectations.

Overall, it’s a light, charming coming-of-age rom-com with a focus on self-discovery, set in the same world as Pride and Prejudice.

How to watch: All 10 episodes of The Other Bennet Sister are streaming on BritBox.

Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy is a documentary series that follows real couples as they go through therapy sessions with psychotherapist Dr. Orna Guralnik in New York.

Each season features a small group of couples dealing with serious relationship issues—like infidelity, differing political beliefs, intimacy struggles, and non-traditional relationships. The show uses their therapy sessions to explore how personal conflicts often reflect larger social and cultural tensions.

Dr. Guralnik not only guides the couples but also reflects on the sessions with other therapists, giving insight into her process and interpretations. The result is a deeply reflective, emotional series that shows how complex relationships can be—and how therapy can uncover hidden dynamics.

Overall, it’s intimate, thoughtful, and often surprisingly relatable, leaving viewers reflecting on their own relationships and communication patterns.

How to watch: All nine episodes of Couples Therapy’s fifth season are available to stream if you have Paramount+ Premium Plan. If not, you can catch new back-to-back episodes weekly on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Paramount+ With Showtime.

Mr. Bigstuff

Mr. Bigstuff is a British comedy series about Glen, a shy carpet sales assistant trying to build a stable life and afford his upcoming wedding. His life gets disrupted when his estranged, loud, and chaotic brother Lee suddenly reappears.

Lee’s reckless behavior constantly drags them into trouble, but he also pushes Glen out of his comfort zone and forces him to take more control of his life. The show mixes family tension with absurd, often crass humor and situations that spiral out of control.

Overall, it’s a darkly funny, fast-paced British comedy about brotherhood, personal growth, and chaos disrupting an ordinary life.

How to watch: Both seasons of Mr. Bigstuff are streaming on Hulu.
